Tiny toes don’t stay tiny for long. Capture your baby’s handprints or footprints on pottery at The Lemon Tree Pottery Painting Café in Bourne End, near Marlow, Cookham and Maidenhead.
A keepsake for you, a gift for the grandparents
Choose a pottery piece in the café and we’ll help you capture the print. Add your baby’s name, the date or a short message to make it personal. A footprint plate for Grandma or a handprint mug for Dad can be a lovely birthday or Christmas gift.

How it works
- Book a daytime pottery-painting session and let us know you’d like baby prints.
- Choose your pottery when you arrive. We’ll help with the handprint or footprint, and you can add your own decoration.
- Leave it with us for glazing and kiln firing. Collection is normally in around 10 days.
Visiting from further away? We can post most finished pieces within the UK for under £10 per piece. Ask us during your visit to confirm the cost for your chosen pottery. Read about UK postage.
What does it cost?
The normal studio fee is £5 per painter, covering table time, paints, glazing and kiln firing. Pottery is purchased separately, with drinks and treats available to buy. For a baby-print visit, contact us if you’re unsure which people to include in the booking so we can get the seating and charges right.
Planning your visit with a baby
We recommend a weekday session, which is generally quieter than the weekend. Daytime sessions last 90 minutes. Our café is small, so please use a baby carrier where possible and include accompanying non-painters in your booking. If you need to bring a pram or come with a parent group, contact us about the arrangements first.
Planning a Christmas present? Come in ahead of the December rush and tell us if you need the finished pottery for a particular date. We’ll check the firing timing before you book.
